"we have nothing to lose and a great big beautiful world to see"

I remember the first time sank my toes into that sweet, warm california sand.  I was 10 years old and my parents planned to travel across the U.S. for three months.  They piled my 4 siblings and I into their conversion van and off we went... my big crazy half-asian family.  So if you draw a straight line from Wisconsin down to Texas, we pretty much saw every monument, national park, natural wonder, and anything noteworthy in between.   Best trip ever.  It was then I knew my heart craved to see so much more of the world, as they did.

I hate to say it, but we tend to live most of our lives in a bubble... doing the same things, seeing the same people.   And for some that's enough.... and that's perfectly fine!  But to me- traveling is a break from the norm.  It's exciting mostly, but uncomfortable at times... and it's in these moment I find so much can be learned.  When you walk different paths.  Eat exotic things.  Take in the beauty of the earth and smile at the unfamiliar.  And that, my friends.... is priceless.

This trip down the California coastline was one for the books.  I still find myself giggling when I think about the interesting & ridiculous conversations we had.  The blending of friends from different points in life, and my husband that kept all of us laughing made this trip fun & wildly entertaining from start to finish.  So get comfortable, grab a snack, and let your fingers do some scrolling to escape and maybe inspire you to get out and see the world.

until next time, Cali.
